Spare a moment if you will for Tübingen Tigers’ Garlon Green.
In the final seconds of his team’s game against Braunschweig and with the score at 81-79, the brother of NBA player Gerald Green flew in to catch a missed a free throw but instead dunked it with authority.
Unfortunately, the player shooting the free throw was on the other team. Yes, Green dunked it home in the wrong basket so Braunschweig extended their lead to 83-79, which turned out to be the final score.
The incident has drawn so much attention in Germany that the Beko BBL’s social media team has been messaging the media outlets asking if it’s a good idea to invite the Tigers “high flyer” in next month’s dunk contest at the Beko BBL All-Star Game.
Wouldn’t hurt, I guess.
