In the thrilling match, the Americans overcame a 17-point deficit to win 95-91. The U.S. outscored Serbia 32-15 in the fourth quarter to secure their place in the final.
George, who watched the game from afar, was moved by the performance of his teammates. “I felt cheesy because I was getting chills and sh*t. It was like that moment, like ‘Damn, I’m proud to be an American,’” George said on Podcast P.
Steph Curry led the charge for Team USA, scoring a game-high 36 points, including nine three-pointers. Joel Embiid added 19 points, and LeBron James contributed 16 points, 12 rebounds, and 10 assists.
Kevin Durant also played a crucial role, stepping up with nine points in the final moments. The win highlighted the team’s resilience and skill against a formidable Serbian squad.
Bogdan Bogdanovic led Serbia with 20 points, while Nikola Jokic added 17 points and 11 assists. Aleksa Avramovic also contributed 15 points for the Serbians.
