Zalgiris added a 20-year-old South African prospect Thabo Sithole to its youth team. The signing is result of a recently launched cooperation between Zalgiris and South Africa.

Last summer Zalgiris sent coach Darius Dimavicius to South Africa. He spent three months there sharing his knowledge with the local basketball community. Dimavicius also joined the training process of a local side Duzi Royals, runners-up of the local league, and the team for which Sithole played.

Sithole is regarded as one of the most promising South African players. Standing at 1.9 m of height he plays point guard and shooting guard positions.

The player will join the Zalgiris “B” squad that plays in the second division in Lithuania. The B team is composed of the top prospects of Zalgiris system.

Sihole will undergo medical testing on Monday and will be set to join the Zalgiris “B” team training.
