LeBron James needed four stitches after taking an elbow in the eyebrow during the quarterfinals of the 2024 Paris Olympics against Brazil.

The Los Angeles Lakers superstar was hit in the third quarter and left the game to receive medical attention. Despite returning to the bench, James did not return to play.

Ben Golliver reported that USA Basketball coach Steve Kerr confirmed James received four stitches from the inadvertent blow.

James’ injury did not impact the game’s outcome as Team USA secured a dominant 122-87 victory over Brazil. This win propels the Americans into the semifinals. The win sets up a rematch with Serbia in the semifinals.

In the game, James contributed 12 points, 3 rebounds, and 9 assists in just under 17 minutes of play.
