French basketball legend Tony Parker compared San Antonio Spurs Rookie of the Year Victor Wembanyama to LeBron James.
Parker praised Wembanyama, stating in an interview with Yahoo Sports, “He’s not bothered by the pressure or the expectation.”
He added, “He’s a little bit like LeBron. The only one who can compare to so much expectation before his arrival is LeBron James.”
Parker highlighted Wembanyama’s impressive rookie season with the Spurs, noting his extraordinary performance.
The four-time NBA champion hopes Wembanyama’s talent translates into multiple championships for the Spurs and medals for French basketball.
This past season, Wembanyama averaged 21.4 points, 10.6 rebounds, and 3.9 assists in 29.7 minutes per game.
Currently, Wembanyama is competing at the 2024 Paris Olympics with the French national team.
