Quick random 2024 NBA offseason notes.
- I don’t know if Donte DiVincenzo (New York Knicks) & Coby White (Chicago Bulls) remain starters, but their 2023-24 seasons proved to me that they aren’t just role players. Both guards put up career-highs in PPG (DiVincenzo- 15.5/White-19.1) after averaging just single digits the year before.
- Hopefully Chris Duarte can get his efficiency up with the Chicago Bulls. He’s shot 37.4% from the field and 32.9% from three-point land during the last two seasons.
- I remember questioning why the Denver Nuggets signed DeAndre Jordan back in 2022, as I overlooked his leadership/him staying in great shape. The veteran center will return for the 2024-25 season following inking a third consecutive one-year deal with Denver.
- 2024 #2 pick Alex Sarr’s (Washington Wizards) lack of offense during NBA 2K25 Summer League definitely looked worrisome (5.5 PPG on 19.1% FG/11.8% 3-PT/50.0% FT shooting numbers). I really hope he’s studying a lot of film and working on different moves right now, because what clearly stood out to me was how the 19-year-old would just keep taking the same bad shots over and over again. On the bright side, Sarr showed potential to become a defensive monster in the NBA (2.5 BPG).
- I think it’s pretty obvious that rookies Reed Sheppard (Houston Rockets) & Bub Carrington (Washington Wizards) will have solid careers if they’re efficient. The two guards did it all at summer league by displaying extremely high basketball IQs (Sheppard-20.0 PPG/4.8 RPG/5.3 APG/2.8 SPG/1.3 BPG/50.0% FG/75.0% FT/Carrington- 15.8 PPG/7.4 RPG/5.2 APG/1.0 SPG/0.6 BPG/35.9% 3-PT/86.4% FT).
