Jazz waive two players

The Utah Jazz have waived forwards Darius Bazley and Kenneth Lofton Jr.

NBA insider Michael Scotto tweeted the news, confirming the roster changes.

Both Bazley and Lofton Jr. were eligible to receive $400K of their salary guaranteed if they remained with the Jazz through July 25th.

Instead, the team decided to waive both players.

This past season, Lofton appeared in just four games for the Jazz. He averaged 13.8 points, 5 rebounds, and 4.8 assists in 22.8 minutes per game.

Bazley also had limited playing opportunities with Utah. He appeared in six games, averaging 8 points and 4.5 rebounds in 23.7 minutes per game.

The Jazz’s decision to waive Bazley and Lofton Jr. allows them to maintain financial flexibility.
