The Golden State Warriors are seriously interested in acquiring Lauri Markkanen from the Utah Jazz.

Utah’s demands, specifically including Brandin Podziemski, have stalled the deal.

Marc Stein reported on Substack that Utah’s interest in Podziemski, combined with future draft compensation, keeps the prospect of a Markkanen trade alive.

There is also a belief that the Warriors might prefer to trade Jonathan Kuminga over Podziemski in any big-swing deal.

Markkanen, 27, had a strong season, averaging 23.2 points, 8.2 rebounds, and 2 assists in 33.1 minutes per game.

The Finnish forward’s addition would significantly bolster the Warriors’ lineup.

Golden State’s reluctance to part with Podziemski highlights their high regard for the All-Rookie first team selection.
