Cleveland Cavaliers forward/center Evan Mobley has secured a five-year, $224 million maximum rookie contract extension, per NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski.
The deal could increase to $269 million based on performance incentives.
Mobley, 23, has averaged 16 points, 9.3 rebounds, and 2.2 blocks in 12 NBA playoff games.
In 2023, he was named first-team All-Defense and finished third in Defensive Player of the Year voting.
Since being drafted as the 3rd overall pick in 2021, Mobley has joined a select group of players with 300 blocks and 150 steals.
Anthony Davis, Jaren Jackson Jr., and Rudy Gobert are the other players in this group, according to ESPN Stats and Information.
The Cavaliers have now committed a maximum contract to Mobley, adding him as a second cornerstone player.
Earlier in July, Cleveland also secured All-Star guard Donovan Mitchell.
