Golden State Warriors guard Brandin Podziemski values the mentorship he received from Klay Thompson during his rookie NBA season.

Thompson, a four-time champion, provided Podziemski with invaluable guidance both on and off the court.

Reflecting on Thompson’s mentorship, Podziemski stated, “It meant a lot. It’s something you can’t just go on Google or go on YouTube and search up when you get advice from someone like that,” as reported by Angelina Martin of NBC Sports Bay Area.

Thompson recently signed a three-year deal with the Dallas Mavericks, leaving a lasting impression on Podziemski.

Podziemski shared, “Just appreciating his presence, appreciating everything he shared with me from an on-court and off-court perspective.”

He also mentioned a recent call from Thompson, highlighting their strong bond, “Getting a call from him a couple of days ago, and him telling me I’ll always have a brother in him for life is pretty cool.”

Podziemski looks forward to competing against Thompson, saying, “We can’t wait to go against him and compete against him when we play Dallas.”

Despite being a rookie, Podziemski averaged 9.2 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 3.7 assists in 26.6 minutes per game last season.

His impressive performance has made him a valuable asset for the Warriors. The Warriors have refused to include Podziemski in trade talks with the Utah Jazz for Lauri Markkanen.
