Former NBA All-Star Kemba Walker says that he made the decision to retire from basketball while playing for AS Monaco this past year.
(via Charlotte Hornets):
“It just was (the right time), for my injury, for my knee. I was out in Monaco, and I just knew. I knew I probably couldn’t play again after that season, so I kinda set a goal for myself to finish that season, which I accomplished. As the season’s going on, I was thinking about retirement, it was in the back of my mind. I would say I’m retiring for about a week, and then when that week finished out, I would say I’m not retiring. I would keep going back and forth like, ‘I’m coming back next season.’ And stuff like that.”
