Isaiah Thomas remains hopeful for a return to the NBA as he waits for the right opportunity to arise.
The 35-year-old veteran, a former All-Star point guard, expressed his readiness to contribute during an update on ESPN’s Summer League broadcast, as reported by Nick Jungfer of Basketball Forever.
“I’m a free agent right now,” Thomas disclosed to ESPN’s Cassidy Hubbarth. “Talking to a few teams trying to see what the best opportunity is down the line. I want to play a year or two more. Just staying on the slow grind. Staying patiently ready. Knowing that I can impact an organization whether I play or not, and be super impactful each and every day. So I’m just waiting for the call.”
Late last season, Thomas received a chance to showcase his skills with the Phoenix Suns, appearing in six games and averaging 1.3 points in 3.2 minutes per game.
The veteran guard brings a wealth of experience and leadership to any team, having previously played for several NBA franchises, including the Boston Celtics and the Cleveland Cavaliers.
