NBA players Dario Saric and Ivica Zubac were involved in a bar fight near Athens, Greece, early Monday morning. The incident occurred hours after the two competed for Croatia in an Olympic Qualifying Tournament game.
TMZ reported that the altercation took place inside the Bolivar Beach Bar around 5:30 AM. Video footage shows Zubac, the LA Clippers center, engaged in a physical struggle with another individual.
Club security quickly intervened, attempting to separate the parties involved. Saric, who recently agreed to a two-year deal with the Denver Nuggets, rushed to assist Zubac but was intercepted by security staff.
During the scuffle, Saric was put in a chokehold and brought to the ground, remaining there for several moments. A man was seen yelling at Zubac, instructing him to calm down, which led to Zubac stepping back with his hands raised.
Witnesses reported that the situation escalated rapidly, making it unclear what triggered the confrontation. No police presence was noted at the scene.
Earlier in the day, Zubac and Saric played against Giannis Antetokounmpo and Greece in the Olympic Qualifying Tournament Final. Zubac delivered a strong performance with 19 points and 13 rebounds, while Saric added 14 points.
Despite their efforts, Croatia lost the game 80-69, allowing Greece to secure a spot in the 2024 Paris Olympics.
