The Indiana Pacers have secured promising forward Johnny Furphy with a significant four-year, $8.59 million contract, NBA insider Michael Scotto reports.
Furphy, who emerged as a standout during his freshman season at Kansas, made a memorable debut against ninth-ranked Oklahoma and earned accolades on the Big 12 Conference All-Freshman team.
Following his standout collegiate season, Furphy declared for the 2024 NBA Draft and garnered attention, ultimately being selected 35th overall by the San Antonio Spurs.
However, on draft night, Furphy was swiftly traded to the Pacers in exchange for the 36th overall pick and cash considerations.
Throughout his rookie campaign, Furphy averaged 9 points and 4.9 rebounds per game.
