LeBron James has agreed to a new two-year, $104 million maximum deal with the Los Angeles Lakers.
The superstar, who recently declined his player option for the 2024-25 season, is returning to the team.
NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski broke the news on X, highlighting the deal’s key details.
The contract includes a player option and a no-trade clause, making James one of only two players in the league with such a provision. The other is Bradley Beal of the Phoenix Suns.
This agreement ensures James will play his 22nd season with the Lakers, continuing his year-to-year approach in the NBA.
James’ agent, Rich Paul, is in discussions with the Lakers about James potentially taking $1 million less than the maximum to keep team below second-apron and able to keep a little more roster-building flexibility.
At 39, James remains a dominant force, averaging 25.7 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 8.3 assists per game last season.
