The Los Angeles Lakers are unlikely to trade Austin Reaves this offseason, despite his value as a trade target. They drafted Dalton Knecht at No. 17 and plan to keep him, having decided against trading future draft capital for short-term gains, considering LeBron James’ age.
“To set the record straight, the Lakers, I don’t see any scenario where they’re moving Austin Reaves this offseason,” said Shams Charania on the Pat McAfee Show on Thursday.
“If anyone has seen the way J.J. Redick has been glowing about Austin Reaves… J.J. Redick wants Austin Reaves to really fulfill his potential. Whether that’s been an All-Star caliber player. Whatever it is. He has high hopes for Austin Reaves.”
