The New York Knicks are set to retain OG Anunoby, who has agreed to a new lucrative deal with the team.
NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski tweeted that OG Anunoby intends to sign a five-year, $212.5 million contract to return to the Knicks. The deal will include a player option and a trade kicker.
Anunoby’s previous contract was a four-year deal worth $72 million, indicating a significant increase in his new agreement.
This past season, Anunoby averaged 14.7 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 2.1 assists in 34.9 minutes per game for the Knicks.
With this new contract, Anunoby becomes one of the highest-paid players in the league.
Another major goal for the Knicks is to sign Isaiah Hartenstein, who is drawing significant interest from other teams, to a new contract.
