Olimpia Milano parts ways with Alex Poythress

Olimpia Milano has officially parted ways with center Alex Poythress after his one-year stint with the team.

Poythress, who arrived last summer from Maccabi Tel Aviv, has been a fixture in the EuroLeague since the 2020-21 season, starting with Zenit St. Petersburg.

During the recent season, Poythress contributed 5.3 points and 2.7 rebounds per game in 12.8 minutes of play in the EuroLeague.

Milano’s decision to release Poythress comes as part of their strategy to revamp their frontcourt, which includes the departure of Nicolo Melli and the signings of Josh Nebo and Zach LeDay.
