Jayson Tatum: Jrue Holiday is the ultimate Swiss army knife

Boston Celtics star Jayson Tatum has heaped praise on teammate Jrue Holiday, describing him as the ultimate Swiss army knife following their championship-winning season.

Reflecting on the additions of Holiday and Kristaps Porzingis before the season, Tatum highlighted Holiday’s versatility and impact on the team.

“Jrue Holiday, a two-time champion now, is the ultimate Swiss army knife. He does everything that we need him to—guard the best guard, score, set screens all night or he can score,” Tatum remarked.

Despite Porzingis’ injury during the playoffs, Tatum emphasized his contributions as well, calling him a “real-life unicorn” who gave his all to contribute whenever possible.

“And then KP, even though he wan injured for most of the playoffs, he real life unicorn and he was doing everything in his power to go out there and play and contribute,” he said about the Latvian forward.

Tatum expressed admiration for both players not only for their on-court abilities but also for their character and timing in joining the Celtics. “They’re just great people too. Everybody was at the perfect time in their career. They had all the individual accolades, they’ve gotten paid and I was jus like, can we come together and play the right way to do this?” he added.

With Holiday’s defensive prowess and offensive versatility, alongside Porzingis’ unique skills and determination, Tatum believes these additions were crucial in pushing the Celtics towards their 18th championship victory.
