The Mavericks’ commanding victory in Game 5 of the Western Conference finals showcased their offensive firepower, as they surged to a 29-point halftime lead and extended it to 36 in the third quarter, effectively dismantling the Timberwolves’ defense.

With their dynamic duo in peak form, the Mavericks now await the NBA Finals, where they will face the Boston Celtics in a highly anticipated showdown beginning on June 6.

Despite a valiant effort from the Timberwolves’ Anthony Edwards and Karl-Anthony Towns, who combined for 56 points, they were unable to contain the relentless onslaught from Doncic and Irving.

The return of rookie Dereck Lively II bolstered the Mavericks’ defensive presence, providing crucial rim protection alongside Daniel Gafford and stifling the Timberwolves’ offensive efforts.

As the Mavericks celebrate their return to the NBA Finals for the first time since 2011, Doncic and Irving stand as the driving forces behind their postseason success, poised to lead the franchise in pursuit of championship glory.
