While the Philadelphia 76ers aim to secure Los Angeles Clippers superstar Paul George, they have Brandon Ingram of the New Orleans Pelicans as a contingency plan.

According to Kevin O’Connor of The Ringer, Ingram is viewed as the primary fallback option for the 76ers if they can’t land George.

Ingram’s contract with the Pelicans, valued at $36 million with a 15 percent trade kicker through the 2024-25 season, presents a challenge.

However, the Sixers could absorb him without sacrificing salary, offering a significant benefit to the Pelicans. This arrangement would allow the Pelicans to create cap space and acquire draft picks from Philadelphia.

Reports suggest that the Pelicans are inclined to trade Ingram this offseason to reshape their roster.

Ingram’s stats from the past season include averaging 20.8 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 5.7 assists per game.
