Draymond Green has reignited his ongoing feud with Rudy Gobert. Recently, the Golden State Warriors forward claimed that Nikola Jokic embarrassed Gobert, who won his fourth Defensive Player of the Year award, in Game 5 of the Western Conference semifinals.

Green discussed the topic on a recent episode of The Draymond Green Show. He pointed out that the Minnesota Timberwolves assigned Karl-Anthony Towns to guard Jokic, despite Gobert being on the roster.

“How about this? We sit here breaking down KAT having to stop Joker, who’s a center, and the Defensive Player of the Year is on your team and he a center,” Green said.

Green compared the situation to Marcus Smart guarding Steph Curry. He highlighted the irony of a Defensive Player of the Year not taking on the primary defensive assignment.

“Very interesting how the cookie crumbles. It’s like if Marcus Smart won Defensive Player of the Year back then, which he did, and then they’re like, ‘But Jaylen [Brown], you got to go guard Steph,’ but Marcus Smart’s a point guard. Marcus Smart, you won Defensive Player of the Year, you got to guard Steph, right?” he said.

“I love the game within the game more than anything. When I’m watching these games, I’m watching the game within the game and I can’t help but notice there is a center that won Defensive Player of the Year and we asking KAT go guard the Center,” Green concluded.

The Warriors forward remains vocal about his views on fellow players. His remarks about Gobert are the latest in a series of candid critiques.
