Rapper Snoop Dogg, a fervent supporter of the Los Angeles Lakers, is vocal about his desire for the team to acquire Klay Thompson.

With Thompson set to explore free agency this offseason, Snoop Dogg sees an opportunity for the Lakers to bolster their roster with the sharpshooting guard.

Snoop Dogg emphasized Thompson’s fit with the Lakers, citing his connection to the organization through his father, Mychal Thompson, who works for the team.

“I’m hopeful that we can get us a Klay Thompson. His dad is Mychal, he works for the Lakers, it’s an easy transit down the road,” the rapper said on The Stephen A. Smith Show, via Matthew Valento of Lakers Nation.

“I mean, he doesn’t fit with [the Warriors] anymore. They’re trying to minimize him. He needs to be on a team where he is wide open, and we love getting him that look. Right now, he’s fighting to get the ball. And that’s not what he does.”

Thompson’s impending free agency has sparked speculation about his future, with the Orlando Magic reportedly expressing interest in signing him.

The rapper believes that Thompson’s style of play aligns well with the Lakers’ need for a dynamic scorer.

Thompson faced challenges this season, including adjusting to a bench role for a portion of the campaign.

Despite this, his track record as a four-time NBA champion and his scoring prowess make him an enticing prospect for teams in need of perimeter shooting.

As Thompson enters free agency for the first time in his career, speculation abounds regarding his potential landing spots.
