The 2016 Final Four, which will be played on May 13 and 15, was presented officially on Thursday in Berlin during a ceremony held at the East Side Gallery, an international memorial for freedom adjacent to Mercedes-Benz Arena, where the best four teams of the season will battle for the Euroleague trophy next spring.

The 2016 Final Four logo [contextual link to download logo] was presented at the Berlin Wall with a graffiti painting exhibition at the East Side Gallery. Designed by the multi-award-winning Semiotik Design Agency, the logo merges the souls of basketball and the city of Berlin, mixing them in perfect harmony in the style of the Bauhaus modernism art school, which pioneered the rules and patterns of modern industrial and graphic design.

Jordi Bertomeu, Euroleague Basketball President and CEO

“It is great to come back with the Final Four to Berlin and to one of the best arenas in Europe, the Mercedes-Benz Arena. Berlin will be in the spotlight of the sports community in May with all eyes from the five continents witnessing one of the best sports events worldwide. I want to thank AEG and the City of Berlin for making this possible and for their hospitality, and also ALBA Berlin for their commitment and collaboration in bringing the passion of the Final Four to the local basketball fans.”

Mr. Andreas Statzkowski, Permanent Secretary of the Berlin Senate for the Interior and Sport

“This year we have already hosted a many big events like the Champions League final, the European Cup handball final and EuroBasket. In 2016, there will be more major events coming to Berlin, such as the Turkish Airlines Euroleague Final Four. Berlin has a great basketball team (ALBA Berlin) and a big fan basketball culture. This made the decision to partner with the Euroleague very easy.”

Michael Hapka, Managing Director AEG Operations

“We are very proud that the Turkish Airlines Euroleague Final Four returns to Berlin in 2016. Today’s presentation of the new logo kicks off the countdown towards the Final Four in May. The Mercedes-Benz Arena will be ready to host an extraordinary event and provide basketball fans from across Europe with an unforgettable experience.”

Patrick Femerling, Final Four Berlin Ambassador

“I am very happy that we started the road to the Final Four with this kick-off event here in Berlin with the presentation of the ticket sales and the logo. I am very excited about the Final Four being in Berlin in 2016 and about the other events coming with it. I plan to be a good representative for the Euroleague and for Berlin.”
