Panathinaikos defeats Maccabi in Game 5, returns to Final Four after 12 years

Panathinaikos secured a thrilling 81-72 victory over Maccabi in Game 5, marking their triumphant return to the EuroLeague Final Four after a 12-year hiatus.

In a fiercely contested decider, Panathinaikos showcased resilience and determination to overcome Maccabi and secure their spot in the prestigious Final Four.

Led by Kendrick Nunn’s stellar performance of 26 points, including six three-pointers, Panathinaikos delivered a commanding display on both ends of the court.

Despite facing stiff competition from Maccabi, Panathinaikos remained composed and capitalized on crucial opportunities to seize control of the game.

Kostas Sloukas, who contributed 15 points before exiting the game due to injury, played a pivotal role in Panathinaikos’ offensive efforts.

Mathias Lessort’s tenacity on the boards, coupled with his 9 points and 11 rebounds, provided Panathinaikos with a significant edge in the paint.

Meanwhile, Lorenzo Brown led Maccabi’s charge with 19 points and 7 assists, but it wasn’t enough to derail Panathinaikos’ determined pursuit of victory.

Panathinaikos will face either Monaco or Fenerbahce in the Final Four in Berlin.
