The Chicago Bulls presented veteran forward DeMar DeRozan with a two-year contract offer, reportedly valued at up to $40 million annually.

As an unrestricted free agent this summer, DeRozan has the option to sign a three-year deal, either as an extension or in free agency. However, due to the NBA’s Over-38 rule, he can’t sign a contract exceeding three seasons, considering he’ll turn 35 next season.

Bulls VP of Basketball Operations Arturas Karnisovas emphasized the need for roster adjustments but expressed the team’s desire to retain DeRozan.

DeRozan expressed interest in staying with the Bulls while emphasizing his desire to compete for a championship.
