Tyrese Maxey leads 76ers to dominant win over Nets

Tyrese Maxey propelled the Philadelphia 76ers (47-35) to a resounding 107-86 victory over the Brooklyn Nets (32-50), ending the regular season with eight straight wins.

With Joel Embiid sidelined as a precaution after tweaking his surgically repaired left knee, Maxey stepped up with 26 points, while Tobias Harris contributed 21 points to secure the win for the Sixers.

Despite Embiid’s absence in the regular-season finale, he is expected to return to action when the 76ers host the Miami Heat on Wednesday night in the play-in tournament.

The matchup against Miami will determine the No. 7 seed in the Eastern Conference, with the winner advancing to face the second-seeded New York Knicks in the playoffs, while the loser will face either the Atlanta Hawks or Chicago Bulls to determine the No. 8 seed.

Cam Thomas led Brooklyn in scoring with 18 points, while Noah Clowney contributed 16, and Trendon WAtford added 14.
