Williams, Giddey, Gilgeous-Alexander lead Thunder to win over Pelicans

Jalen Williams, Josh Giddey, and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander led the charge as the Oklahoma City Thunder (50-21) pulled off a comeback against the New Orleans Pelicans (44-28), and recording a 119-112 win.

Williams showcased scored team-high 26 points, including crucial baskets in the final moments to seal the victory for the Thunder.

Despite battling a sore quadriceps, Gilgeous-Alexander delivered a standout performance, contributing 24 points and hitting a game-tying 3-pointer late in the contest, while Josh Giddey added 25 points and nine rebounds.

Zion Williamson led the charge for the Pelicans with 29 points and 10 assists, but it wasn’t enough to secure the win as New Orleans faltered down the stretch.

CJ McCollum provided valuable support for the Pelicans with 23 points, but their late-game struggles allowed the Thunder to mount a stunning comeback.

Trey Murphy III and Herb Jones each contributed 16 points for the Pelicans, who suffered just their second loss in their last eight games.

The victory marks Oklahoma City’s fifth win in their last six games, positioning them just half a game behind the Denver Nuggets for the top spot in the Western Conference.

New Orleans is currently fifth in the West, half-game behind the Los Angeles Clippers.
