Mike Conley guides Timberwolves to victory over Cavaliers

Mike Conley led the NBA-leading Minnesota Timberwolves (48-22) to a 104-91 victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers (43-27) on Friday night with team-high 21 points.

Conley received support from Naz Reid, who had 18 points, while Anthony Edwards recorded a double-double with 16 points and 13 rebounds, and Rudy Gobert dominated the boards with 15 rebounds.

Despite a valiant effort from the Cavaliers, led by Darius Garland (19 points) and Caris LeVert (16 points), Cleveland struggled to contain Minnesota’s offensive firepower, suffering their fifth loss in seven games.

The absence of All-Star Donovan Mitchell further compounded the Cavaliers’ challenges. Minnesota also missed an All-Star in Karl-Anthony Towns.

The Timberwolves, currently third in the Western Conference, continue their chase of the top seed. Cleveland is third in the East just one game ahead of the Orlando Magic.
