The Phoenix Suns coach Frank Vogel described Isaiah Thomas as a universally beloved figure but emphasized that no promises have been made beyond his initial 10-day contract.
With an available spot on the 15-man roster, the Suns intend to assess Thomas’s contributions before making any further commitments.
Vogel highlighted the necessity for Thomas due to Saben Lee nearing the end of his two-way contract and emphasized that while Thomas is highly respected within the NBA community, his playing time remains uncertain.
“He’s a very well-liked, respected guy in this league, in this NBA player fraternity, but we’re gonna see where his game is at,” Vogel said of Thomas.
“Again, I don’t know how much he’ll play for us. He’s really here from a depth standpoint because Saben Lee only has four games left.”
Veteran guard Isaiah Thomas, who just signed a 10-day deal with Phoenix, hopes to play a few more years in the NBA. That + more from the Pacific. https://t.co/APuSPVl8Qs
