Michael Jordan draws parallels between himself and Anthony Edwards

According to sports analyst Chris Broussard, basketball icon Michael Jordan has identified resemblances between his game and the playing style of Minnesota Timberwolves sensation Anthony Edwards.

While Broussard believes Edwards may not enter the Greatest of All Time (GOAT) conversation, he notes that the young star exhibits similarities in gameplay to Jordan.

Broussard’s comments came during an episode of First Things First, where he discussed Edwards’ potential trajectory in the league.

“There’s two comparisons to Michael Jordan,” Broussard said. “There’s one in one day he can be as good as Michael Jordan or better. That’s where LeBron gets always compared to Jordan. Not because stylistically they play like that. Then there’s the other one of the game is similar.

“As great as Anthony Edwards is, I think he can be the best American player, maybe the face of the league, at least American players, he’s not ever going to be in the GOAT conversation. As great as he will be, he will never be in the GOAT conversation.

“But stylistically, well, I reached out to the GOAT today, Michael Jordan. Jordan said there are similarities in their game. He agreed. If Jordan says there are similarities, then there are similarities.

“And what I like in addition to the athleticism and explosive dunks, his desire to play is like MJ’s… How about his defense? He plays defense too. So those are similar Jordan too. I like the comparison as far as the style of play.”

In his fourth NBA season, Edwards has emerged as a dominant force on the court, averaging 26.7 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 5.1 assists per game.
