Monk, Sabonis, Fox lead Kings to thrilling OT win over Grizzlies

Malik Monk, Domantas Sabonis, and De’Aaron Fox spearheaded the Sacramento Kings (39-28) to a thrilling overtime 121-111 triumph over the Memphis Grizzlies (23-46) on Monday night.

Monk, who scored game-high 28 points off the bench, poured in 12 crucial points during overtime, while also contributing six rebounds and six assists.

Sabonis continued his remarkable double-double streak, notching his 50th consecutive double-double with 25 points and 18 rebounds, asserting his dominance in the paint.

Fox delivered a standout performance with 23 points, 10 assists, and seven rebounds, orchestrating the Kings’ offense.

Jaren Jackson Jr. led the Grizzlies’ charge with 25 points, while Desmond Bane and GG Jackson contributed 24 and 22 points respectively, but their efforts were not enough to overcome the resilient Kings in overtime.

The Kings faced adversity early on, losing starting guard Kevin Huerter to a left shoulder injury less than two minutes into the first quarter.

Memphis fought valiantly throughout the contest, mounting a spirited comeback in the fourth quarter to force overtime.
