Wendell Carter Jr. on Paolo Banchero: His approach to the game is a lot different than the guys his age

Here’s Orlando Magic center Wendell Carter Jr. explaining why 21-year-old sophomore Paolo Banchero is beyond his years as a player following Wednesday’s 114-106 home win vs. the Brooklyn Nets (21 points/3 rebounds/9 assists/6-6 FG/1-1 3-PT/8-9 FT/+18 +/-).

(via Orlando Magic):

“I give a lot of credit to Paolo, he’s very mature for his age. His approach to the game is a lot different than the guys his age. He understood a lot of teams, especially these last two, they were being very physical and trapping and grabbing and holding. And I think coming into this game, he just set the table for everyone else, which made it easier for him down the stretch. He’s just a phenomenal scorer, phenomenal player all-around, so this is no surprise to me. I’ve seen him be able to set the table up for everyone else before, and that was kind of how he approached the game tonight, and we just made our shots. A lot of credit to him for finding the open man, that was the trend tonight, just share the ball and take your shots when they open.”
