Bogdan Tanjevic named new Montenegro head coach

Montenegro have named Bogdan Tanjevic as their new national team head coach, the KSCG [Montenegrin Basketball Federation] have announced.

Tanjevic, who led Turkey to the silver medal at the 2010 world championships takes over from Luka Pavicevic, who stepped down from his post last year.

After making a successful transition after independence from Serbia in 2006, Montenegro failed to reach this past summer’s Eurobasket and Tanjevic has been set a goal to qualify for the 2017 European tournament.

“The main task will be for us to qualify for the next European Championship and it starts with qualifying for the competition starting next year,” Tanjevic said.

“I will visit all the clubs, I’ll talk with all the Montenegro players to see how they can help and communicate throughout the season.”
