Charles Barkley’s transition to a CNN host with his new program, “King Charles,” has faced a downturn in viewership, particularly due to backlash from comments about Black Trump supporters.

The weekly primetime show, co-hosted by Gayle King, has experienced a decline in viewers since its November debut, consistently averaging below 500,000 total viewers. In the latest episode, which aired this past Wednesday, “King Charles” garnered only 457,000 total viewers, excluding data from its livestream on Max.

While the show typically avoids making significant headlines for the liberal network, it drew negative attention during a special broadcast on Saturday. Barkley faced criticism for threatening physical harm to any Black Trump supporter displaying his mugshot on their clothing.
