Khaman Maluach, a highly anticipated prospect for the 2025 NBA draft, has officially committed to Duke as part of the incoming 2024 class. Maluach expressed his decision, acknowledging that choosing Duke felt like returning home and where he truly belonged.

Despite recognizing that he could succeed at various top-tier programs, he emphasized the difficulty of the decision-making process. In the end, the comfort and sense of belonging at Duke played a pivotal role in his choice.

Maluach appreciated the stature of the other prestigious programs that were actively recruiting him but highlighted that, in terms of his personal development and the relationships forged with the coaching staff, Duke stood out as the best fit for him.

“Duke is home, that’s where I belong,” Maluach said. “This was the hardest decision I’ve ever made. I felt like I could succeed anywhere, but I was most comfortable going to Duke.

“All the schools that were recruiting me are big-time programs, but in terms of my development and the relationships I built with the coaches, they were the best.”
