Tari Eason is set to undergo season-ending surgery on his left leg, as confirmed by Houston Rockets coach Ime Udoka.

Eason, who has been limited to 22 games this season and hasn’t played since January 1, is dealing with a benign growth in his left shin bone. Despite attempts at rest and rehab, the pain persisted whenever he increased his activity.

After consultation with specialists, the decision has been made for Eason to undergo surgery, including a bone graft on his shin, with an expected recovery period of four months.

Udoka noted that the growth was a preexisting condition that Eason had managed for some time.

“We thought rest and rehab, he could get over it that way, but every time he ramped up, the pain came right back. After seeing all the specialists and decision-makers, came to the decision that it’s best to have surgery Monday,” said Udoka.
