Gran Canaria sit top of the Liga Endesa after a hard fought 76-67 win over a stubborn Sevilla side in round three of the domestic Spanish league.
Despite being winless this season thus far, Sevilla showed signs of promise and nearly came away with a much needed win to boost the side’s confidence.
But, led by Sasu Salin’s 14 points, which included four triples, Gran Canaria got the job done.
Barcelona are another of the unbeaten sides in the Liga Endesa after they posted an 82-74 win over UCAM Murcia in a game that let emotions run high in the closing seconds of the game.
Shane Lawal hammered home to effectively seal the win for Barca but his emotions got the better of him and he got in Augusto Lima’s face which did not sit well with Lima and the game ended with both players having to be restrained by the benches.
Laboral Kutxa are 3-0 after beating Unicaja Malaga 74-66 on the road as Slovenian international Jaka Blazic had 15 points for the victors.
And Valencia are 3-0 as well after making the Barclaycard Center a happy hunting ground this season as they toppled Estudiantes 81-73.
Following on from their win on the opening day against Real Madrid, Valencia were led by 21 points from Rafa Martinez.

Veteran Demond Mallet led the way for the Catalan side with 15 points as Badalona own a 2-1 record to start.
Elsewhere there were wins for Manresa, who won at Andorra 77-74 and Bilbao, who claimed a 75-63 success at Gipuzkoa.
