Clippers edge Warriors despite Steph Curry’s 41 points

The Los Angeles Clippers (36-17) managed to overcome Stephen Curry’s 41-point outburst to edge past the Golden State Warriors (26-26) with a narrow 130-125 victory on Wednesday night.

Despite missing their leading scorer Kawhi Leonard due to a left leg injury, the Clippers found resilience in Paul George and Norman Powell, who stepped up in crunch time to secure the crucial win.

Powell showcased his clutch gene by sinking four crucial 3-pointers down the stretch, totaling 21 points for the night and outdueling Curry in the final moments of the game. For his part, George added 24 points.

James Harden contributed 26 points, eight rebounds, and seven assists, providing valuable support for the Clippers’ offense in Leonard’s absence.

Curry continued his sensational scoring streak, becoming the first player in NBA history to make seven or more 3-pointers in four consecutive games, finishing the night with 41 points on 9-of-19 shooting from beyond the arc.

George’s pivotal five straight points sparked a crucial 10-0 run in the fourth quarter, allowing the Clippers to erase a 12-point deficit and seize control of the game’s momentum.

The intensity reached a boiling point early in the fourth quarter when a hard foul by Clippers’ center Mason Plumlee ignited a heated altercation involving multiple players, resulting in ejections and technical fouls.

Despite the Warriors’ resilient effort led by Curry and strong performance from Brandin Podziemski, who notched a career-high 25 points, Golden State couldn’t withstand the Clippers’ late surge.

With the win, the Clippers snap the Warriors’ five-game winning streak and reaffirm their status as a formidable contender in the Western Conference.
