Irving and Doncic combine for 61 points as Mavericks beat Spurs

Kyrie Irving and Luka Doncic combined for 61 points to lead the Dallas Mavericks (33-23) to a commanding 116-93 win over the San Antonio Spurs (11-44) on Wednesday night.

Irving scored game-high 34 points, while Doncic contributed 27 points before exiting the game early in the fourth quarter due to a neck injury, receiving treatment thereafter.

The victory marked the Mavericks’ sixth consecutive win, while the Spurs endured their eighth loss in nine games heading into the NBA All-Star break.

Spurs rookie Victor Wembanyama tallied 26 points, nine rebounds, and three blocks in 27 minutes of play.

Returning to action after missing several games, Mavericks’ Dereck Lively II made a solid contribution off the bench, adding eight points and five rebounds in limited minutes.
