Although initially considered a leading candidate to take over the Hornets’ front office following Mitch Kupchak’s reassignment, Sixers general manager Elton Brand has opted not to pursue the position in Charlotte.
According to a league source, as reported by Keith Pompey of The Philadelphia Inquirer, Brand, who recently signed a long-term extension with the 76ers, is fully committed to his current role in Philadelphia.
Since joining the Sixers’ front office in 2016, Brand has steadily risen through the ranks, culminating in his current position as the second in command under President Daryl Morey.
Despite Brand removing himself from consideration, the Hornets have a pool of potential candidates as they explore replacements for Kupchak.
