CJ McCollum guides Pelicans to victory over Clippers

CJ McCollum delivered a dominant fourth-quarter performance, scoring 13 of his 25 points to lead the New Orleans Pelicans (30-21) to a 117-106 win over the Los Angeles Clippers (34-16) on Wednesday night.

Teaming up with Zion Williamson, who contributed 21 points and 10 assists, McCollum propelled the Pelicans to their fourth consecutive victory.

Brandon Ingram chipped in with 15 points and eight rebounds, while Herb Jones and Trey Murphy III provided crucial contributions with 13 points each in a wire-to-wire win over a fatigued Clippers squad.

Despite efforts from James Harden and Norman Powell, who scored 19 and 18 points respectively for the Clippers, the Pelicans capitalized on their opponent’s weariness, playing their eighth game in 13 days.

Kawhi Leonard struggled, managing only 15 points, while Paul George (seven points) endured a tough shooting night, missing his first nine shots before finding his rhythm in the second half.
