Jayson Tatum’s 34-point surge propels Celtics to dominant win over Grizzlies

Jayson Tatum scored hame-high 34 points as the NBA-leading Boston Celtics (38-12) effortlessly sailed to a 131-91 victory over the injury-riddled Memphis Grizzlies (18-32) on Sunday night. Tatum also grabbed eight rebounds and dished out seven assists.

In a bounce-back performance following a disappointing loss to the short-handed Los Angeles Lakers, the Celtics faced a Grizzlies squad with only eight available players due to a staggering 13-player injury report.

Kristaps Porzingis contributed 26 points, Derrick White added 15, and Al Horford chipped in with 11, helping Boston maintain an impressive 23-3 home record at TD Garden.

Grizzlies’ Scotty Pippen Jr. led his team with 19 points, while GG Jackson and David Roddy contributed 18 and 14 points, respectively.

Boston played without Jaylen Brown, sidelined due to a back injury, while former Celtic Marcus Smart, now with the Grizzlies, missed the game due to a right ring finger injury.

Despite Smart’s absence on the court, the Boston faithful expressed their appreciation with a heartfelt chant of “Thank You, Marcus!”.
