Former NBA player and analyst Kendrick Perkins suggested that it might be time for the Miami Heat to part ways with Jimmy Butler to provide him with an opportunity to contend for a championship this season.

Perkins stated on ESPN’s NBA Today, “It’s time for the Miami Heat and Jimmy Butler to go their separate ways… Miami Heat need to do right by Jimmy and trade to a team that actually could compete for a title this season.”

However, Butler’s agent, Bernie Lee, swiftly addressed the speculation, tweeting, “So my week started with squashing OJ wanting to fight someone I worked with and continues with this sh*t? He’s never going anywhere.. EVER. He’s going to win a championship in Miami.”

Butler’s performance this season includes averaging 21.4 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 4.4 assists in 33.8 minutes per game.
