Kevin Durant praises Cam Thomas: “The sky’s the limit for him”

Kevin Durant marked his return to Brooklyn, leading the Phoenix Suns (28-20) to a decisive 136-120 victory against the struggling Nets (19-28) with an outstanding 33-point performance.

Facing his former teammate Cam Thomas, Durant acknowledged the young player’s talent, stating, “He’s only gonna get better. What is he? 22-years-old? Around the league, it’s already on the scouting report that he’s one of the hardest people to guard. So if he keeps it up, the sky’s the limit for him,” as reported by Erik Slater.

Durant, known for his on-court competitiveness, humorously addressed his rivalry with Thomas, saying, “Anytime I can score on Cam and talk shit to him, man. We’ve been doing that since I’ve known him. He’s my brother. I got to teach him a lesson if he’s going to guard me out there,” as reported by Duane Rankin.

Despite the loss, Thomas showcased his scoring prowess, finishing the game with an impressive 25 points.

This season, the 22-year-old guard has been a key contributor for the Nets, averaging 21.2 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 2.4 assists in 28.9 minutes per game.
