Wizards stage late rally to secure rare back-to-back win against Spurs

The Washington Wizards (9-37) secured a rare second consecutive win by rallying in the final six minutes to defeat the San Antonio Spurs (10-37) with a score of 118-113 on Monday night.

Led by Kyle Kuzma’s 18 points and 11 rebounds and Daniel Gafford’s 16 points and 13 rebounds, the Wizards staged a comeback, marking their first back-to-back victories this season.

The decisive moment came with just 5.1 seconds remaining when Gafford gathered a loose ball and delivered a powerful dunk, putting Washington ahead by five points.

Tyus Jones and Marvin Bagley III contributed 15 points each, while Jordan Poole finished with 13, playing crucial roles in Washington’s comeback.

San Antonio’s Devin Vassell led with 24 points, and Victor Wembanyama added 22 points and 11 rebounds. Despite their individual performances, the Spurs couldn’t maintain their two-game winning streak, falling short against the resurgent Wizards.
