In a recent NBA trade, Kyle Lowry finds himself in a Charlotte Hornets jersey after a swap with the Miami Heat involving Terry Rozier. However, speculation is rife that the 2019 NBA champion may not don the Hornets’ colors at all and could be on the move again.

According to Jake Fischer of Yahoo Sports, Lowry’s arrival in Charlotte opens up the possibility of him becoming available on the buyout market.

While the Hornets may explore re-trading the seasoned floor general, the potential for a buyout looms if no suitable deal materializes.

One destination that stands out as a potential landing spot for Kyle Lowry in the event of a buyout is the Philadelphia 76ers. The Sixers, positioned as one of the few contenders below the luxury tax apron, have the financial flexibility to sign a player of Lowry’s caliber, especially if he becomes available on a buyout.

Fischer’s report suggests that Lowry is not expected to join the Hornets before the trade deadline. As the Hornets navigate the possibilities surrounding the respected 18-year veteran, he is likely to remain away from the franchise during this period of uncertainty.

Notably, the Sixers are coached by Nick Nurse, who played a pivotal role in leading the Toronto Raptors, with Lowry as a key contributor, to the championship in 2019.

In the current NBA season, the 37-year-old Philadelphia native has contributed an average of 8.2 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 4 assists per game during his time with the Miami Heat.
