Pelicans soar to franchise record in dominant win over Jazz

In a historic performance, CJ McCollum’s sharpshooting led the New Orleans Pelicans (26-18) to a resounding 153-124 victory over the Utah Jazz (22-23), setting a new franchise record for points in a game.

McCollum showcased his scoring prowess, connecting on 9 of 13 attempts from beyond the arc, tying his season-high with 33 points. Zion Williamson played a pivotal role as a point forward, contributing 17 points and a career-high 11 assists, orchestrating the Pelicans’ offensive onslaught.

The Pelicans’ previous scoring record of 149 points, set in October 2018, was shattered, as they also established a new franchise mark with 41 assists on 60 made field goals.

Herb Jones had a big performance with 22 points, Brandon Ingram added 18, and Jonas Valanciunas contributed 17 to the Pelicans’ offensive showcase.

Utah, on the other hand, faced its third consecutive defeat, with Collin Sexton leading the Jazz with 22 points and seven assists, while Simone Fontecchio contributed 18 points.
