In a high-stakes clash between the top teams in the Western Conference standings, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander showcased his clutch performance, scoring 11 of his 33 points in the fourth quarter to lead the Oklahoma City Thunder (29-13) to a narrow 102-97 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves (30-12) on Saturday night.
Contributing to the Thunder’s comeback, Jaylin Williams added 20 points, while Minnesota native Chet Holmgren made a notable impact with 15 points.
Despite trailing by 11 early in the fourth quarter, the Thunder secured their second win in four games, narrowing the gap to just one game behind the Timberwolves.
Anthony Edwards and Karl-Anthony Towns each contributed 19 points for the Timberwolves, while Naz Reid added 18.
Despite a late push from the Timberwolves, including Rudy Gobert’s free throw and Mike Conley’s attempted 3-pointer, the Thunder held on. Jaylin Williams secured the victory with two free throws.
