Brooklyn Nets power forward Royce O’Neale is drawing interest from the Cleveland Cavaliers, as reported by Marc Stein on his Substack. The interest was confirmed by an anonymous NBA general manager.
O’Neale, 30, who is in his second year with the Nets, is on an expiring contract, making him a potential trade candidate.
He is averaging 7.5 points, 4.7 rebounds and 3.1 assists in 25.4 minutes per game off the bench for Brooklyn this season.
Another name to watch for the Cavs according Stein, is De’Andre Hunter of the Atlanta Hawks. However, he has three years and $70 million left on his four-year, $90 million contract, making it a difficult trade option.
The 26-year-old small forward is averaging 14.9 points, 4.1 rebounds and 1.4 assists in 30.3 minutes per game this year.
